Women's Rugby World Cup to operate Ticket Exchange programme for Charity

With the pool stages of the Women's Rugby World Cup 2017 now almost entirely sold-out, tournament organisers have developed a programme to provide those without tickets a chance to see some of the World's best female players in action, and raise funds for injured players at the same time.

Women's Rugby World Cup Ireland 2017 will operate aTicket Exchange Programme to allow those leaving venues before all three matches have been completed to donate their ticket for resale, at face value, to those requiring tickets at UCD each day.

The first 300 people leaving each day can exchange their ticket for a Women's Rugby World Cup pin, as a thank-you from the IRFU Charitable Trust.

Tickets remain on general sale for the finals stages for WRWC 2017, which take place on the 22nd and 26th August in Belfast, while  a small number of tickets remain for match day one of the pool stages in Billings Park, UCD.

Launching details of the charitable initiative, Garrett Tubridy, WRWC Tournament Director, said: 'Women's Rugby World Cup tickets are sold per-venue, per-day, rather than per-match; this provides great value and the opportunity for each ticket holder to see up to three World Cup matches throughout the day. However, we recognise that people may not be able to stay for all three games which their ticket gives them access to.

To allow those looking to soak up the atmosphere and be part of an Irish Rugby World Cup we will operate a Ticket Exchange system at both UCD Bowl and Billings Park, which will have the added advantage of raising funds for the injured players who are assisted by the IRFU Charitable Trust. We believe this will be a win-win-win for all involved. We would call on all fans who are attending an early match on any day in UCD, to seek out our Ticket Exchange volunteers when they leave the venue and help support injured players in the process.

Tickets are still available for Semi-finals day on August 22nd and Finals Day on August 26th in Kingspan Stadium, so there is still an option for fans who want to guarantee their place at the Women's Rugby World Cup â€

How it works

Tickets will them be re-issued and sold via the on-site Ticket Office, at full face value, with all profits from the resold ticket going to the IRFU Charitable Trust.
