Donnacha Ryan set to depart Munster for Paris

Nenagh's Donnacha Ryan looks set to join French side Racing 92 after the IRFU decided not to offer him a new central contract.

The 33 year-old Munster second-row was refused a new central contract due to his age, according to reports in national media this week. This is despite his Irish teammate Jamie Heaslip, who is just four days older, being offered an extended central contract.

Munster offered Ryan a contract that was shy of what the IRFU could put on the table but moving to Racing will certainly trump what Munster and Ireland were offering with figures of €600,000 over two years being reported.
