Lough Derg Sprint Triathlon 2018

Nenagh Triathlon Club successfully hosted the annual Lough Derg Sprint event in Dromineer on Saturday.

This was the fifth year the event has been organised and once again it attracted a big number of spectators and competitors, with 130 triathletes taking part in what were blustery conditions, making it a testing event for all.

There was a one-two for Limerick as their triathlon clubs Colm Turner and Ronan Costelloe were the first two home, with Turner completing the swim, cycle and run in 1 hour 1 min and 30 seconds while Ger Bowen completed the podium.

Ennis TC's Ella Doherty was the first female home with the teenager completing the course in 1 hour, 7 mins and 1 second. Esther Baydon (Pulse TC) was second with Murna Griffin O'Malley from Limerick completing the podium.
