Ranger romps to Islandbridge success

So often turning to the Guilfoyle kennels for celebration in the major events of the sport, there remains many local kennels with the capability of taking on and beating the elite of greyhound racing.

That assertion was emphatically endorsed when young Roscrea trainer Christopher Delaney guided his brilliant sprinter Rosbirr Ranger (Paradise Madison/Wrathchild) to victory in the hugely prestigious Islandbridge 350 Yard Stake at Shelbourne Park on Friday.

A first round winner in the event when posting 18.80, he was collared late in his semi-final by Portmageewiseguy in 18.88 but saved his best for the final when reversing the latter form….and then some!
