Lyons of Limerick Motorsport to move up a gear in 2018

Lyons of Limerick Motorsport will compete in the 2018 Dance to Tipperary Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, starting with the West Cork Rally in March.

The Lyons of Limerick Motorsport Team campaigned a Ford Fiesta R2T for the last 2 seasons, culminating with victory in the Group N/R Class in the 2017 West Coast Championship. For 2018 the team plan to upgrade to a M-Sport Ford Fiesta R5.

It has been many years since a 4wd 300bhp rally car graced the halls of the Limerick motor Dealer, however this time it will be Keith Lyons taking over the reins from his illustrious father Ken Lyons.

Driver Keith Lyons said. “I witnessed my father compete from an early age, so the dice was cast many years ago. I am under no illusions; this year will be a very steep learning curve . Stepping from a Ford Fiesta R2T into a R5 Fiesta will be a great challenge, for both the team and me. However, I am relishing the opportunity to compete in what really has been my life’s dream.”
