Bagsy in Front when it mattered most

The 2018 National Meeting is drawing ever closer to its February 10th start date and following last weekend’s action, there is just a solitary ticket for the Oaks to be contested at the final qualifying meeting which concludes tomorrow (Thursday) at Macroom.

The final scramble for classic places saw six coveted tickets handed out at the perennially busy Tubbercurry renewal which hosts three clubs at a single meeting and claiming a place in the Derby, Eoin Kelly’s Bagsy The Front (Newinn Wonder/Blue Abella) found winning form in the nick of time when impressively claiming victory in the host clubs qualifier.

He will now join Goodbye Girl (Coolavanny Bingo/Adios Belle) in Powerstown Park after she earned her place in the Oaks at Thurles earlier in a season that has seen the Kelly family’s Killowney kennels contesting on all fronts from the very outset.
