Ardcroney NS claim four County schools titles

Ardcroney National School are basking in the glow of a four-timer of GAA success at the Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol hurling & camogie finals held at Semple Stadium, Thurles last week.

The 'Field of Legends' proved to be a 'Field of Dreams' for the primary school whose four teams who reached the county finals as North winners, returned home as county champions.

On day 1, the Under 11 'D' Camogie team set the ball rolling with a 7-2 to 2-1 win over Knockavilla NS, while later in the day the Under 13 team won the 'D' grade with a 5-7 to 3-11 win over Upperchurch NS in one of the matches of the finals.

The following day on Wednesday, the school returned to Thurles to cheer on the Under 11 Hurling and Under 13 Camogie teams and they didn't disappoint either with the camogie team winning the 'B' grade with a 2-5 to 1-3 win over Ballylooby NS.

It was then up to the Under 11 boys team to complete the unique fourth success from four finals and they did that in impressive style with a 7-2 to 2-5 win over Lisnamrock NS.
