Ryan highlights issues as tough year come to an end

There is no doubting that the manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team is one of the hardest jobs in GAA.

The demands are constant. The highs are great but the lows are as tough as they come so any man that takes up that mantle has to be made of stern stuff.

From the high of the 2016 All Ireland victory, now comes the low of being one of the two teams knocked out in the group stage of the new Munster senior hurling championship in which they never really got going.

“It’s been tough, Christ it has” he said of the year that has now come to an end.

“We’re in the business of trying to win matches and keeping the Tipp flag flying and ultimately we didn’t do it and it’s been tough, it’s been long and we’ve no problem with it being tough and long, we just hate going out and that’s our lot.”
