Tipperary had the best possible start to the All Ireland Senior Camogie Championship campaign with a fine win over Meath on Saturday.

A wonderful result and a great confidence builder, this was the start that Tipperary needed to help them believe in themselves going forward and also to help them put behind the heavy loss to Cork in the Munster final a few weeks back.

In their first year ever playing at the highest level and in doing so creating history for their county in doing so, Meath were out-played in this contest despite showing good moments of skill, however what they can take from the game is the level and standard of excellence they need in order to compete in championship.

The home side started in a whirlwind with 1-2 on the scoreboard without reply after six minutes, the goal coming from Cáit Devane, while Eibhlis McDonnell and Orla O’Dwyer accounted for the points.
