TIPPERARY v OFFALY

The Ragg

Sunday 21st January

Throw-in @ 2.00pm

Tipperary may have lost their National League opener to Wexford on Sunday but for manager Bill Mullaney, the performance was the big thing to take from the game.

What we wanted is the honesty and effort and that’s what happened. We’re delighted with the performance,” he began.

We asked the girls before we went out to give a good performance and if they gave a good performance, then we wouldn’t be too far away. We were disappointed with that late goal (Wexford) but the performance throughout the game was excellent.

The Ballinahinch man added that the side have a lot to work on yet and that it’s early in the season with a number younger girls making their first appearance at senior level last Sunday.

They’re gone in disappointed which is great in another way and they know it was there for the taking but they can hold their heads up. We’re only back training and we can now kick on from this positive beginning,” he said, looking forward to this Sunday's second game against Offaly who will be making their league bow after having a bye in the opening round.
