Tipp hurlers end warm-up games with facile win

The Tipperary senior hurlers would have hoped for more sterner pre-season opposition than the one Liam Mellows provided in Lorrha last Saturday.

In lining up a game against the Galway club champions who are preparing for an All Ireland semi-final in four weeks time, Tipperary would have expected more of a test from the Renmore men, but Louis Mulqueen's charges endured a sobering experience in a 4-30 to 0-8 drubbing which wouldn't give you much hope for them when they face Cuala next month.

It would be easy to write off this game in terms of learning anything from a Tipp perspective but the element of ruthlessness was impressive as Michael Ryan's charges were relentless from first minute to last.
