Waterford IT to celebrate 35 years of GAA success

The WIT GAA will celebrate 35 years of success on Friday 24th February at Waterford Institute of Technology.

This special Gathering event will bring together the members of the various Hurling, Camogie, Handball and Football teams since the club was founded in 1982. The event will provide an opportunity for the club members over the years to meet and recall their experience of time spent at WIT and their activities with the GAA Club.

Since its humble beginning in 1982, when the club first participated in the Higher Education Div. 3 football and hurling leagues, the WIT GAA club is now recognized as one of the most successful GAA clubs in the Higher Education sector. During this period, the club has won 117 competitions, including 9 Fitzgibbon Cups and 8 Ashbourne Cups. The Gathering will be a fitting event to recognize the various efforts and dedication of our members who over the past 35 years have played their part in bringing WIT GAA Club to the summit of Higher Education GAA.

The WIT GAA Gathering organizing committee is in the process of collecting the relevant contact details of its members since 1982 and your assistance with this process would be very much appreciated. If you have played or been involved in any way with the GAA club, please provide the organizing committee with your contact details by mailing the club at gaa@wit.ie. Also, if you know of any other past players contact details, please include them with your details or alternatively update them on the event.

Friday 24th February 2017, will be a very special night in the history of WIT GAA Club and we look forward to the Gathering of our members from home and abroad at this event. On-going updates on the Gathering will be available at www.witgaa.ie.
