Nenagh CBS goalkeeper Ewan Bourke is challenged by Templemore's Ray McCormack

Templemore outclass Thurles in Harty Quarter Final

Dr Harty Cup – Munster PPS Senior 'A' Hurling Quarter Final

Our Ladys SS, Templemore 3-14

Thurles CBS 1-10

By Enda Treacy at The Ragg

Our Lady’s Secondary School Templemore showed why they are many people’s favourites for this year Harty Cup title, when they made light work of Thurles CBS in front of a packed house at the Ragg on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was played at a frantic pace, with both sets of supporters creating a brilliant atmosphere, and the players responded by going hell for leather for the 60 minutes.

Thurles gave a good account of themselves in the first half with the wind, but Templemore made the most of their opportunities, as they registered two goals from Ray McCormack and David O’Shea to lead 2-4 to 0-8 at half time with the game in the balance.

However, once Templemore got on top in the second half, and with the aid of the breeze, there was only going to be one outcome, as they outclassed their opponents all around the field.

A second Ray McCormack goal three minutes from time made the win safe after a mini Thurles comeback in the final ten minutes, but Our Lady’s can now look forward to a semi-final date with Nenagh CBS in two weekends time.
