Clonmel Commercials GAA Club Receive South East Sports Star Award

Tipperary were well represented at the 2015 South East Sports Star Awards Night which took place at Mount Wolseley Hotel Spa and Golf Resort, Tullow, Co. Carlow last Saturday January 30th 2016.

The awards celebrated the region's top sporting achievements of 2015. 14 monthly winners who won a public vote when pitched against nominees from the other four counties of the South East were honoured, and they were presented with a specially commissioned award on the night.

Special guest MC, Irish soccer legend Packie Bonner announced the overall winner of the 2015 South East Sports Star of the Year Award, Waterford rally driver Craig Breen, as chosen by a specially selected judging panel.

Clonmel Commercials GAA Club was named the November winners after they made history by becoming the first Tipp team to ever win a Munster Senior Club Football Championship, and followed that up with qualification for the All-Ireland semi-finals.

CEO of Beat 102-103 Gabrielle Cummins says: “We are delighted to honour the region's best sporting achievements every year with Mount Wolseley, and we'd like to congratulate Clonmel Commercials on their award. They have had a wonderful 2015 and we wish them every success in the future”.

The South East Sports Star Awards are returning again for 2016, and Beat 102-103 is now taking nominations from the public to honour their favourite sports star.
