Seven all stars for tipp

Seven Tipperary players feature on the GAA GPA Hurling All Star team for 2014 while All Ireland champions Kilkenny have six.

 

Portroe’s Darren Gleeson bagged his first All Star award for his outstanding displays in goal for Tipperary throughout the championship. The other Tipp players to receive awards at Friday night’s ceremony in Dublin were Brendan Maher, Padraic Maher, Shane McGrath, John O’Dwyer, Patrick Maher and Seamus Callanan.

 

Limerick’s Seamus Hickey and Shane Dowling complete the side while Richie Hogan has been named Hurler of the Year. Tipp's Cathal Barrett was named the Young Hurler of the Year.
