September Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif

John Meyler, Cork senior hurling manager and cycling enthusiast, has teamed up with Fáilte Ireland and Ride Wild to announce the launch of the September Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif which will take place from September 8th to 16th. The Sportif is a multi-stage event spanning over 2,000km and is Ireland’s greatest cycling experience on one of the longest and most stunning touring routes in the world. Cyclists can register for any stage up to the day before. Any club that enters 10 cyclists in the event will receive two free entries. Spanning 16 stages, the fully-supported event is open to leisure and club cyclists who will experience the stunning coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way, taking in areas of great natural beauty such as Valentia and Achill Islands and 5 Classic Climbs including Sheep’s Head, Coomanaspic, the Conor Pass, the Glengesh Pass and the Marmor Gap. Participants will also pass 8 lighthouses, 15 Wild Atlantic Way Signature Discovery Points and 255 towns and villages. Participants will enjoy an incredible journey combined with fantastic food experiences and the warmest welcomes the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer.
