New foodstore plan for Nenagh

Tipperary Co Council has received a planning application focusing on a unit formerly proposed for a bowling alley at Stereame, Nenagh.

Melcorpo Commercial Property Unlimited is seeking to change the use of the ground floor of a retail unit (Unit 7) from the permitted bowling alley use to provide for a convenience retail foodstore. Associated signage and roof-mounted fixed plant, as well as modification to the front elevation is included in the plan.

So too are townscape enhancement works to include the partial removal of the existing boundary wall and implementation of a programme of hard & soft landscaping along the Limerick Road site boundary.

Based in Dublin, the Melcorpo Commercial Property outfit has been involved in several shopping centre acquisitions around the country. A seven-lane bowling alley proposal was one of the key elements of the Stereame project when it was originally granted planning permission 15 years ago, along with an 84-bedroom hotel, leisure centre and more than 400 houses.

The council is to make a decision on this new application by August 15th.
