Contest for Nenagh Toastmasters

Nenagh Toastmasters held their Speech and Evaluation Contest on Tuesday April 3rd.

Danny Doyle as Contest Chairperson on the night orchestrated the meeting with his usual charm and professionalism. Well done to all competitors on the night – the speeches were most enjoyable and informative, and the evaluators, listening attentively, gave great advice to our test speaker.

Congratulations to Rose Walsh who came first in the speech contest with a speech entitled 'Patient Advocate' and well done to John Spillane, who came second with a speech entitled 'One Long Holiday'. Congratulations also to Siobhan O’Leary, who won the evaluation contest, and to Brendan O’Brien, who was runner up.

A huge thanks to Matt Burke from the Roscrea club who gave the evaluation test speech. Matt gave us a very encouraging speech on how Toastmasters can help curb the fear of public speaking. Rose Walsh and Siobhan O’Leary will represent the Nenagh club in the Area final. The Nenagh club would like to wish both Rose and Siobhan the very best of luck in the next round.

The Area final will be held in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, this Friday, April 13th, at 8pm. This is usually a very entertaining night and well worth coming to see.  Everybody is welcome on the night – Toastmasters and non-Toastmasters alike.

The next normal meeting of Toastmasters will be held in the Abbey Court Hotel at 8.15pm on Tuesday April 17th. All our welcome – why not come along and experience Toastmasters for yourself. Bígí linn.
