Big start to BSR 2018

The fundraising drive for this year's Ballycommon Sponsored Ride got underway in earnest last Saturday when a truck and tractor run was held at Ballycommon village.

Thanks to all the truckers and tractor drivers who turned out in force to support the event, which is this year being held in aid of North Tipperary Hospice and the Suaimhneas Cancer Support Centre in Nenagh. The total raised from Saturday's run was an amazing €3,219.85, which will be included in the BSR final figure and will help to reach the goal that has been set for the 2018 fundraiser.

As well as the participants, the BSR committee would like to thank all the bikers, stewards, volunteers, photographers, videographers and spectators. A special thanks to all at The Thatched Cottage, and to the three main organisers of the run, Donie Clarke, Albert Purcell and Michael O'Donoghue.

Thanks is also due to proud sponsors Abbey Retail and Massey Ferguson, who recently announced a fantastic prize draw to win a trip to Massey Ferguson's tractor factory in Beauvais, France. The prize includes flights, accommodation, meals, factory tour, and a guided sightseeing tour of Beauvais.

Entry for the draw costs €10. The draw will take place at The Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon, on Saturday April 21st. The Ballycommon Sponsored Ride itself will take place on Sunday March 18th. Check out their Facebook page for more information and regular updates.
