Training day for local Toastmasters

The Area 24 Toastmasters Training Day took place in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, on Sunday February 4th.

Area 24 comprises of five clubs – Nenagh, Roscrea, Killaloe, Limerick and Thomond. The day began with a Toastmasters quiz for all those masterminds. Then Tom O’Keeffee gave a very good talk about Pathways – the new educational system coming on stream in Toastmasters. John Spillane showed us how to interact with the Toastmasters website, which proved very beneficial. Jim McGuire gave an excellent presentation on Evaluation. Helen Spillane gave a talk about 'Going for Office'.  
Members then broke into three discussion groups chaired by Willie Grace from Nenagh, Noreen Mortell from the Thomond club, and Brian Doorley from the Roscrea club. These proved to be very lively and worthwhile. Helen Spillane, Area Director, thanked all the clubs for coming and gave a special word of thanks to Sean Tuohy, who undertook the role of photographer for the day.
