Nenagh Players in rehearsals

The Nenagh Players are currently rehearsing for the Open Drama Festival with the Duet for One written by Tom Kempinski, about a world-famous concert violinist named Stephanie Anderson who is suddenly struck with multiple sclerosis.

The story is based on the life of cellist Jacqueline du Pré, who was diagnosed with MS. Tom Kempinski’s play leads us into some of the mind’s darker corners as the once celebrated, now wheelchair-dependent violinist Stephanie Abrahams visits psychiatrist Dr Feldman.

Slowly, her determination to put on a positive face unravels to reveal dark secrets from her past. Through it all, a complex relationship grows with the enigmatic Dr Feldman.

The play is directed by Donal Bray and Ciara O'Sullivan plays the part of Jacqueline while Kevin Walshe plays the part of Dr Feldmann.

Prior to going on festival, the Nenagh Players will present Duet for One at Nenagh Arts Centre from Wednesday February 28th to Friday March 2nd at 8pm each night.
