Tipperary Co Council is to accord a civic reception to Birdhill Tidy Towns Committee following the local village's triumph in last year's national Tidy Towns competition.

The honorary event is to take place at the community centre in Birdhill on Friday January 26th at 6.30pm. Formally proposing the civic reception at this week's meeting of Tipperary Co Council, Cllr Ger Darcy (FG) said it is fitting that the success of the local community in Birdhill is recognised by the council.

The council also agreed to accord a civic reception to the Tipperary Ladies Football Intermediate Team. This event is to take place in Ardfinnan on Friday February 16th.
