Local 'Mo Bros' raise funds for men's health

Several groups in North Tipperary took part in this year's 'Movember' campaign to raise funds and awareness of men's health issues.

Two Nenagh groups - 'I'll Be Gone 'Til Movember' and 'Buddy's Mo Bros' - each raised over €8,000 for the Movember Foundation, putting them among the top 10 fundraising groups in Ireland.

The Movember Foundation is partnered with the Irish Cancer Society and Action Prostate Ireland. Participants grew moustaches for the month of November as a means of raising funds for charity and drawing attention to men's health issues that the Movember Foundation says are not being talked about.

Founded in Australia in 2003, the Movember Foundation is a charity that seeks to tackle on a global scale some of the biggest health issues faced by men, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide. To date it has funded more than 1,200 men's health projects around the world.

Buddy's Mo Bros had 30 members while the I'll Be Gone 'Til Movember team had 14 members. Both would like to thank everyone who contributed to their
fundraising efforts over the last month. Donations can still be made by searching for the teams on the Movember Ireland website.
