Public reading of 'Fairytale' play in Borrisokane

A public reading of a new play written by Michael Doorley will be held in Borrisokane next Monday, September 4th.

'Fairytale Off New York', a tribute to the songwriting skills of North Tipp's own Shane MacGowan, is to be first performed by the Borrisokane Players. Shane is reportedly is a big fan of the script and the timing is intended to lead up to his 60th birthday on Christmas Day 2017.

Mr Doorley, author of the locally set novel that inspired the acclaimed 'Stella Days' film, is behind this new production. Casting is taking place at present and the first public reading of the play will occur at the David Clarke Memorial Hall next Monday. Anyone who is interested in being involved in any aspect is asked to contact Brendan Carroll at 085-8393831.

The first performance/premiere will take place at the same venue on Thursday November 30th and run until December 3rd. The producer is Philomena Quigley.
