Songwriter Michelle O'Dwyer

Tipp songwriter lets go

NENAGH based singer/songwriter Michelle O'Dwyer has just released her self-penned single 'Let Go' from her up-coming album 'Liberty'.

A native of Clonoulty, Michelle has been residing in the Nenagh area with her partner Darren and children for some time now. While Michelle previously fronted a cover band, she says “composing and performing my own album is a dream come true”.

This dream has been many a year in the making. Michelle cites Sheryl Crow as one of her earliest influences and a determination to master guitar as well as songwriting was born. As we are all well aware, life has a habit of re-directing any pre-planned routes and family sometimes has to take priority. Michelle became a mum for the first time in 2004 and gave birth to her third child in 2015.

While Michelle's dreams had to take a back seat, she never completely put them to bed. While most of her time was given to those precious infant years, she kept her toe in the water with occasional gigs and singing at church weddings.

In between playing camogie and a part time job in Denis's butchers, Michelle continued to work on her guitar and songwriting skills. Listening to Michelle's single 'Let Go' evidences a songwriter who has come into her own. Judge for yourself.

Produced, engineered and mixed by Nenagh man Owen Geaney, Michelle's single 'Let Go' can be viewed at https://youtu.be/N-9_Yii9wD4. Video by Asterisk Multimedia.
