Local author Julian Gough visits Nenagh Library

Nenagh Library was delighted to recently welcome local author Julian Gough, who entertained pupils from Gaelscoil Aonach with his tales of 'Rabbit & Bear'.

A native of Nenagh, Julian was on a flying visit as he was attending the Bord Gáis Energy Book Awards, in which his book 'Rabbit’s Bad Habits' was nominated in the Children’s Book of the Year junior section.

The story is a heart-warming tale of the unlikely friendship which grows between Bear, who is patient and kind, and Rabbit, who is smart and competitive. When hungry wolves show up though, Rabbit is forced to rethink his actions and the story of how these unlikely allies become friends enthralled the children, who peppered Julian with questions and suggestions for upcoming stories about the duo, much to his delight.

'Rabbit’s Bad Habits’ has sold over 20,000 copies and has been translated into 15 languages. The next title in this four-book series, ‘Pest in the Nest’, will be published in January 2017.

Nenagh Library wishes to thank Julian for taking time out to visit and to wish him continued success in the future.
