Topaz Awards €5,500 in Cash Prizes to Clubs from Tipperary Region

Topaz Energy has announced its 2016 Cash for Clubs initiative will see a total of €5,500 being awarded to two clubs from Tipperary.

Topaz is the country’s largest fuel and convenience retailer with over 444 sites nationwide. Being at the heart of local communities across the country, Topaz recognises the vital role that clubs of all shapes and sizes play in providing opportunities for people of every age to learn new skills, socialise and be active.

In light of the financial difficulties and fundraising challenges faced by clubs across Ireland, Topaz last year introduced the ‘Cash for Clubs’ scheme to give clubs the opportunity to generate much-needed funds by harnessing the support of their members and the local community.

After signing up to the community promotion, which called on club members to collect tokens by fuelling up at their local Topaz station, the following two Tipperary clubs were randomly drawn out as cash prize winners as part of this year’s campaign:

-          €5,000 Runner-up Prize Winner – Moneygall GAA

-          €500 Runner-up Prize Winner – Moneygall FC

MJ Tierney, Marketing Director of Topaz added: “With over 440 service stations across the island of Ireland, Topaz is very much at the heart of Irish communities, providing daily services across a 32 county network. With that, we understand the value of clubs of all shapes and sizes and the difficulties they face in raising much-needed funding.

Topaz Cash for Clubs was first introduced to acknowledge those difficulties and reward the tireless work carried out by club members across Ireland when it comes to fundraising, by offering an all-inclusive platform, which ensures everyone’s a winner. The commitment shown by clubs from across Tipperary this year has been fantastic and we congratulate each club on their individual success as part of this year’s campaign.

I would also like to personally thank our staff, colleagues and customers in Tipperary as without their hard-work and belief in Cash for Clubs, we would not be in a position to invest in so many well-deserving clubs.”
