Motorway closures for roadworks

Tipperary County Council proposes to close two sections of the M7 motorway for roadworks over the coming weeks.

The council has advised that works will take place over any two-day period on the M7 eastbound between Junction 24 and Junction 21 from 00.00hrs on Monday November 21st to 23.59 on Saturday December 10th. Works will last no longer than two days within this duration.

A similar situation will be in place westbound between Junction 21 and Junction 24 from 00.00hrs on Monday November 28th to 23.59hrs on Saturday December 17th. The closure dates will be announced in radio and online traffic alerts.
Alternative route (eastbound): 24 to J23 EB – Exit J24, follow R445 to J23; J23 to J22 EB – Exit J23, follow R445 to Roscrea, then N62 to J22; J22 to J21 EB - Exit J22, follow N62 to Roscrea, then R445 to Borris-in-Ossory, then R435 to J21.

 

Westbound: J21 to J22 WB - Exit J21, follow R435 Borris-in-Ossory, then R445 to Roscrea, then N62 to J22; J22 to J23 WB – Exit J22, follow N62 to Roscrea, then R445 to J23; J23 to J24 WB – Exit J23, follow R445 to J24.

 

The reason for the closures is to facilitate stud replacement works on the M7 mainline.
