Dromineer man's film for Limerick film festival

A new film produced by Tom Waller, a man with deep local roots in Dromineer and Nenagh, will feature in Limerick this Sunday, October 30th, as part of the Richard Harris International Film Festival.

A live reading of 'Pirate Queen: The Story of Grace O'Malley', will take place at the Belltable this Sunday at 6.30pm.

It is directed by Tom Waller, owner and director of Nenagh based De Warrenne Pictures. Though born in Bangkok, Tom's lineage links him to the Nenagh area.

His family home is near Dromineer and his ancestors were key figures in Lough Derg Yacht Club over the generations. Tom recalls spending summers growing up by the lake with his grandparents, Hardress and Lygia Waller.

Narrated by Chris Rea, the film centres on Academy Award nominee Shane Connaughton's screenplay. It is described by Tom as an epic film based on a true story.
