Nenagh café with a difference

In celebration of Mental Health week, you can visit a ‘café’ offering a ‘menu’ of all sorts of goodies to enhance your mental health.

From laughter yoga, to dancing the rainbow, to journalling, to walks to meditations, and many more, you’ll be spoilt for choice on this particular menu. The Wellness Café is being hosted by Áras Folláin, Nenagh’s peer-to-peer mental health support centre.

Centre Co-Ordinator Margo O’Donnell Roche says: 'This Wellness Café is for everyone who is interested in their mental health and well-being. It’s not just for those with mental health issues. We all know about maintaining our physical health – well the same applies to mental health.

'I invite all local people to come in and experience all the wonderful tools they can learn to support them through their life.'

Margo goes on to explain that as well as workshops there will be real literal tea and coffee too, and a chance to chat to trained peer-support volunteers on a drop-in basis. All is free, but donations are always welcome.

The Wellness Café will be located at the bottom of Silver Street from October 9th-15th. To read the menu and find out which dish you’d like to taste, check out www.arasfollain.ie, or find them on Facebook. The full menu will also be available from Áras Folláin itself and in many places around town.
