Successful year for Nenagh and Roscrea language groups

FÁILTE Isteach in Nenagh and Roscrea rounded off a very successful year recently with awards being presented to students and tutors in recognition of their hard work.

Fáilte Isteach brings students and tutors together every week to practice and learn English in a fun and relaxed environment, progressing their English and making new friends along the way.

There was a great turnout for the recent end of term parties with a garden party in Roscrea’s Youth Café and an ethnic feast in the Hibernian Inn, Nenagh.

Both events were organised by Karolina Woznicka, Community Development Worker with North Tipperary LEADER Partnership. Over 35 learners turned up as well as 12 volunteer tutors.

Before the celebration began, Karolina gave special thanks to the volunteer tutors: Clare Hanly, Kay McGrath, Alice Balachandran, Corina Croitor, Delia Ho, Eamon Ryan, Joan Naughton, Olive Gray, Teresa Gleeson, Adrian Hewson, Helen Walsh and Henry Deane. She also thanked all the learners and presented each with a certificate of attendance.

“Fáilte Isteach classes have been a great success with over 65 students having attended in both Roscrea and Nenagh,” says Karolina. “Students love the informal and friendly atmosphere and the chance to make friends with neighbours from a range of different backgrounds. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, including the Hibernian Inn, Kickback Youth Café and the Third Age Foundation.”
