Green light for new public house in Roscrea

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for a new public house in Roscrea.

John Carey is proposing to develop the former Irish Nationwide building on Castle St. The plan involves a change of use of part of the ground floor of a Protected Structure, class 2 Financial Services, to Public House. A single-storey extension to rear, alterations to façade including new signage, and internal and external repair works are also included in the plan.

Following a submission from the Dept of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, the council required the developer to engage an archaeologist and a conservation architect while the works take place.
