Americana comes to carney

Stephen Young & The Union, the highly rated Americana band featuring Portroe man Kenny Hollywood on keys, will play at Johnny Ryan's pub in Carney this Saturday, August 1st.
A Dublin-based Americana/folk-rock band, Stephen Young & The Union have played several gigs around these parts in recent years. They also shot a single - 'Duty Free 200' – in Reidy's of Newtown with Nenagh Thomas Moyles of Avalance Multi-Media Studios.
Local painter/decorator Kenny is a key player with the five-piece band, whose sound shifted from its softer, folkier roots to more up-tempo rockers on the last album.
Described by Radio Nova as “the best Americana band on this side of the Atlantic”, SYTU are currently working on a new album – 'Eagle Fort Rumble' – which is due out in November. They will have a new single out on September 12th followed by a second in October.
You can catch the Stephen Young & The Union live experience free in Johnny Ryan's, Carney this Saturday from 10pm.
