Smith and ambrose added to fianna fil ticket

Fianna Fáil has this week confirmed the addition of Cllr Siobhán Ambrose and Cllr Michael Smith to the ticket in Tipperary for the forthcoming general election.
The surprise decision was made following a meeting of the party's National Constituencies Committee.
Cllr Michael Smith of Roscrea topped the poll in last year's local elections but lost out to Cllr Jackie Cahill when Fianna Fáil held its county selection convention in May. He has a been a county councillor since 2004.
Clonmel's councillor Siobhán Ambrose became a county councillor in 2009, having served on Clonmel Borough Council from 2004. She has held several positions on the Fianna Fáil Ard Chomhairle, the Women's Equality Forum and Ógra Fianna Fáil.
They will now join Cllr Cahill of Thurles as the party opts to field three candidates in the general election.
“Fianna Fáil now has an extremely strong ticket in Tipperary,” commented Deputy Moynihan, Chairman of the National Constituencies Committee.
