Motorways to close for road works

Local sections of the M7 and M8 motorways are to close next month for repair works.
Tipperary Co Council has advised that it proposes to make an order closing the M7 westbound between Junction 23 (Moneygall) and Junction 24 (Toomevara) from 05.00hrs on Monday July 6th to 23.59hrs on Friday July 10th. It proposes to close the M7 eastbound from Junction 24 and Junction 23 from 05.00hrs on Monday July 20th to 23.59hrs on Friday July 24th.
The reason for the closure is facilitate rehabilitation works. Traffic will be directed along the R445 (old N7) as an alternative route.
The council also proposes to make an order closing the M8 northbound at Junction 5 (Two Mile Borris) and 6 (Horse & Jockey) from 08.00hrs on Monday July 6th to 22.00hrs on Saturday July 11th. Northbound motorway traffic will be diverted off at Junction 6 onto the R639 (old N8), turning left onto the L4202 through Two Mile Borris and left onto the N75 before rejoining the motorway at Junction 5. The closure is facilitate pavement re-surfacing works.
