Dole queues increased in tipperary during may

The number of people on the Live Register in Tipperary rose during the month of May.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that over 380 extra people joined the county's Live Register last month.

Just over 14,000 in the county were signing on in May, putting the number on the Live Register back up to the figures recorded last February.

South Tipperary experienced the largest increase, co-inciding with the winding down of the Intellicom company in Clonmel, which employed 150. In the north of the county there were almost 6,200 people on the dole during May.
