Voting underway in referendums

Voting began this morning at 7am for the two referendums and will continue until 10pm. There are 317 polling booths at over 130 locations across the five electoral areas of Tipperary.

The electorate is being asked to decide on two referendums: whether to allow same-sex marriage, and to reduce the minimum age of presidential candidates from 35 to 21 years.

Voters will receive two ballot papers when they arrive at polling stations – a white one for the marriage referendum and a green one for the age of presidential candidates referendum. You should cast your vote by putting an 'X' mark in the box beside their preference.

Remember voters may be asked for some proof of identity other than a polling card when they turn up to vote, such as a passport or a driving licence.
