Nenagh world record attempt over wind farm

Nenagh is to stage another world record attempt next month to help fund a campaign against a wind farm outside the town.

It is hoped that a new Guinness World Record for the most amount of people wearing bobble hats in one place at one time will be achieved at Nenagh AFC's Brickfields site on Sunday April 12th.
The attempt is being organised by Edel Grace of Kilcommon, who has launched a legal challenge against a plan to build of wind farm of 16 large turbines on Keeper Hill.
Nenagh recently attracted widespread news coverage when the local athletic club achieved a new world record for the most people to take part in a 100m relay within in an hour on an indoor was track.
Ms Grace is now hoping that at least 800 people will turn up wearing bobble hats at Brickfields on April 12th. Guinness World Records recognises the current record as 764 people, a feat achieved in Belfast in 2010. Ms Grace hopes to top that in an event that will raise both funds and awareness of her campaign against the Keeper Hill wind farm.
