New shopping mall for roscrea

Tipperary Co Council has granted conditional planning permission for new retail units and a health care centre at the old Tesco site in Roscrea.

The development is being welcomed as an improvement for the town centre, where construction began recently of a controversial Aldi store.

Mark Tiernan of TCORP Properties Limerick Ltd has received permission to develop the old Tesco anchor unit site at Roscrea Shopping Centre.
The plan involves a three-storey mixed-use development comprising demolition of external facades, roof structure and service yard of the old building. Smaller retail units and a new mall are to be added at ground floor with a health care centre at first and second floor levels. The existing building form is to be extended. An external walkway and mail entrance canopy is also proposed along with signage, plant and all ancillary works.
