All things beautiful at nenagh library

Nenagh Library will host an exhibition for the month of January titled 'All Things Beautiful' by Mary Flanagan and Mary Redfern.

Both artists have being painting together in Kerry Acheson's painting group in Newport for over five years now and meet every Tuesday night to paint and chat - 'sometimes more talking than painting is done though it is clear from our exhibition that a lot of painting is done too!' For both, painting is their passion - 'it challenges, relaxes and intrigues us. We each have individual styles  and subject interests. We get our inspiration from life, colour, movement and nature'.

Mary Flannagan, who lives in Carrigatoher, Nenagh originally studied graphic design in Limerick School of Art and Design. While she has a wide range of subject interests in this exhibition, she displays her love of flowers, animals and birds, using strong vibrant colours and her remarkable attention to detail that brings her paintings to life and look real.

Mary Redfern lives in Cappamore, Co Limerick and has always had an keen interest in art and has attended classes with many different art teachers developing and learning new skills all the time. She also has a wide subject interest range. With the use of powerful vibrant colour she likes to get life, expression and movement into her paintings, especially when painting people, as is her latest challenge.

The exhibition runs until the end of January.
