Christmas lights in dromineer

Neddy's Cottage in Dromineer was lit up for Christmas last Saturday in a very enjoyable evening for all present.

Chairman of the Dromineer & District Development Association Donal Whelan welcomed the large attendance from the village and thanked them for their support of the recent race night, which is the major fundraiser for the association.
Mr Whelan thanked the committee for their work in preparing the lights, including honorary members Johnny Mac and Willie McGrath for their assistance. He welcomed Biddy Flanagan, the senior resident of the village and a former resident of Neddy Hogan's cottage, to switch on the lights. After switching on the lights, Biddy reminisced about her life in the cottage many years ago.
The attendees were treated to mulled wine, carol singing from local children and banjo playing by Billy McGrath. All in all, an enhancement of the village for the Christmas festival. In addition, Rob from Shannon Sailing brought down his barge that afternoon and had it festooned with Christmas lights.
Do come down to the village over the Christmas period to view the lights.
