Nenagh Choral Society will hold a Table Quiz in The Hibernian Inn this Friday, November 21st. All are welcome.

 

 

Anti-water charges march in Nenagh

A march in protest against water charges is taking place in Nenagh, this Saturday, starting from the Railway Station at 2pm.

 

 

Drama in Dunkerrin

Dunkerrin Community is proud to present Bernard Farrell's comedy play 'Say Cheese' in Dunkerrin Community Centre on this Saturday and Sunday and next Wednesday night, 8.15pm nightly.

 

Fun run in Garrykennedy

A 10km fun run and walk will take place in Garrykennedy this Sunday at 1pm. Monies raised will go to Scoil Mhuire, Portroe.

 

Book launch in Dolla

A book on historical events in the parish of Silvermines will be launched in the Eagles Nest, Dolla this Friday, November 21. It's called 'Mining the Past Volume 3' – the third book of its kind to be launched in the parish in as many years.

 

Choir performance in Ballycommon this Saturday

On this Saturday 22nd November the Ormond Octaves will launch their inaugural CD, ‘Ormond Octaves Sing Choral Favourites’ in The Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon, at 8pm. All proceeds from the CD will go to the Nenagh branch of the North Tipperary Hospice.

On the night the choir will perform some of the songs from the CD. The Ormond Octaves extend a welcome to one and all to attend their launch night, which promises to be a very enjoyable. There is no admission charge. CDs cost €15 and will be on sale on the night. 

 

 

Christmas Craft Fair in Killaloe this Sunday

Clare Crafts are hosting their very popular Christmas Craft Fair in the Lakeside Hotel, Killaloe on this Sunday, November 23.

 

 

Kevin Walsh on stage in Dun Mhuire

After 32 years with the Nenagh Players, Kevin Walsh goes it alone when he performs the humorous one-man show, 'The Sand Park' in Dun Mhuire, Nenagh from November 27-29th. Tickets, €8, at the door each night.

 

 

Delights at Nenagh Arts Centre

 

The acclaimed German comedy film 'Oh Boy' screens at Nenagh Arts Centre on November 27th.

Meanwhile, Louise Morrissey presents her Christmas show in the centre  along with special guests Crystal Swing on December 6th.

 

 

 

Comedy in Ballycommon

 

The Puckane and Carrig Drama Group return to the stage of the Muintir na Tire Hall in Ballycommon on 28th, 29th and 30th of November(at 8.30) to present their latest play 'Kevin's Bed'. The play, written by Bernard Farrell, had its first production at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin in 1998. The group are again under the expert direction of Michael O'Meara and the cast comprising of nearly all of last years stalwarts are joined this year by two new members.

 

Art exhibition at Nenagh Library

Local artist Edwina Knight-Moylan is exhibiting works  in the library for the month of November. Edwina uses mainly oil paints and her work takes its inspiration from her local environment. North Tipp Hospice will receive 15% of the proceeds of the exhibit. The exhibit will officially open on Saturday November 8th at 2pm and will run for the month. All are welcome to join us on the day and your support would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

 

Great War roadshow in Thurles

The Great War Roadshow presented by RTE's Myles Dungan comes to Thurles on this Saturday, November 22. The show centres around World War One – a conflict that saw 35,000 Irish men die. The event is free but booking is essential. 0504-29278  http://greatwarroadshow.ie

 

 

 

Carrig National School Centenary Celebrations

 

Carrig National School, Ballycommon, celebrates  the 100th year of its foundation on the night of Saturday, December 6th. There are a number of events taking place in the village on the night to mark the event, including the launch of a book.

 

 

 

The Polar Plunge in Killaloe

 

Calling all cold water swimmers, and those willing to take the plunge into the freezing waters of Lough Derg to raise funds for Special Olympic Athletes. The event, 'The Polar Plunge' is  organised by the Garda Siochana and takes place at the Adventure Centre Killaloe, on Sunday December 7 at 12 noon.
