Roscrea is standing taller

The founder of the Roscrea Stands Up group, Derek Russell, has urged the people of the town to attend the next public meeting of his group in the Abbey Hall on this Friday at 7.30pm.

Derek told The Guardian that Roscrea Stands Up has come up with a number of proposals aimed at improving the town  and the quality of life for its people – ideas it wants all the people to have a say on.

'The people of the town are always going to be the committee. They are the ones that are going to decide. We can come up with the ideas, but they will decide to go ahead with them or not,' said Derek, explaining the reasons why he wants ordinary citizens from the town to come along to the meeting.

'We are looking for the people of the town to along; they are the ones who will enable Roscrea Stands Up to succeed or fail.'
