New chamber of commerce committee elected in nenagh

The Nenagh and District Chamber of Commerce have worked to foster business development in Nenagh and its surrounds for many years.  It has striven to be a positive force for the business community of our town and has tried to be a strong voice for that community in its dealings with the various agencies whether private, or state, who interact with our commercial and social network of members.
Last week a new Chamber Committee was elected to office.  It is made up of Denis Finnerty, President; Jim Mc Loughney, Deputy President; Gillian Dillon, Secretary; Alexis Kelly, Treasurer; Odhran Ducie, PRO; and Hugh Maloney, Oversight Auditor.  This group has a simple mission:
*To encourage economic prosperity in our area by supporting in whatever way we can the businesses in existence and to promote Nenagh as a location in which new enterprises could thrive.
*To be a strong voice for all our business community.
*To promote Nenagh as a shopping/leisure destination.  We aim to establish closer links between businesses in our town, to win back shoppers to our streets and to keep them coming back.

'Our task is to regain the trust and the support of the entire business community to the town,' said Mr Finnerty. ' We will always keep the needs of our customers and our members central to our thinking.  We hope we can re-establish the Chamber of Commerce as a vehicle for the betterment and development of a thriving and prosperous Nenagh into the 21st century.'
