Hold a trick or treat party to help little billy

The two-year-old son of a Cloughjordan born farmer and a Nenagh based hairdresser has spent the last three months in hospital unable to walk or move.

Little Billy Goulding is being treated in Temple Street Children’s Hospital after a reaction to a virus left him paralysed.

His father Victor, a native of Cloughjordan, and his mother, Eileen, who runs a hairdressing salon in Kenyon Street, Nenagh, have been keeping a bedside vigil ever since Billy  fell ill.

The toddler is just one of the children who would benefit from funds raised by this year’s Trick Or Treat For Temple Street, which is supported by MiWadi.

The campaign – one of the longest-running Halloween fundraisers in Ireland – encourages families, schools, restaurants, pubs and companies to raise money for patients and make a difference to a child’s life.

From now until October 31 it is hoped parties all over Ireland will help raise vital funds for critically-ill patients such as Billy.

This year, the money raised from the campaign will help fund the building of a new neurology unit.

There will be a fundraising night on this Saturday, November 2, in the Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon in aid of Billy. See details on page 43 of this week's Guardian.
