Supermarkets object to nenagh foodstore plan

Supermarket rivals Tesco and Dunnes Stores have lodged objections against a plan to develop a new discount foodstore in Nenagh.

Tipperary Co Council is to make a decision on a planning application for the 0.9 hectare site at Limerick Road this week.

The application, submitted by the Cork based Planning Partnership on behalf of estate executor Ciaran Harte, involves demolishing the fire-damaged two-storey house opposite the Civic Offices and developing a licensed discount foodstore with a car park of 100 spaces, among other features.
