Local students urged to attend social care conference

Students from LIT and Waterford Institute of Technology are invited to attend the largest international conference of its kind in Dublin next month when social care experts from around the world assemble to discuss the value of putting relationships at the core of their practice.

The conference entitled “Unity through Relationship” aims to promote best practice for children in care and aftercare as well as children and their families requiring home or community based support. It will bring together delegates from social work, social care, academia, education and youth work.

Sr Stanislaus Kennedy, Life President and founder of Focus Ireland, is among the speakers. With ‘relationship’ as the core theme, speakers will address the many approaches and disciplines within social care and demonstrate the effectiveness of putting relationships as the centre point of the care programme.

The event will run from November 10th to 14th with the main Unity through Relationship conference in the Regency Airport Hotel, Drumcondra Dublin. Places are still available at a reduced rate and can be booked online using the promotional code Unity3 at https://unitythroughrelationship.eventbrite.ie
