Thoughtprovoking play at arts centre

A brand new play by Mark Wale, performed by Declan Mills (‘The Monuments Men’) and directed by Tara Derrington comes to Nenagh Arts Centre on this Saturday October 25th.

‘Arthurs’s Dig’ depicts a construction industry in crisis. Sacked from his job, Arthur punches his brother-in-law boss, Bill. The fallout from the punch is devastating for Arthur and his wife, Jenny. As they struggle to recover by building a house on their own land, the mounting pressure fractures their relationship. When Jenny discovers she’s pregnant, Arthur’s obsession with bricks and mortar polarises them even further, forcing Jenny into the arms of the enemy. Is Arthur ready to take full responsibility for his choices?

‘Arthur’s Dig’ charts one man’s epic struggle to bulldoze through the crash and build his own future. A virtuoso solo performance from Declan Mills that ranges from city to country, from despair to hope, filling the stage with colourful characters guaranteed to win the hearts of anyone who has ever dreamed of creating their own home.

The play takes place at 8pm and tickets can be booked in advance from Nenagh Arts Centre on 067 34400, online at www.nenagharts.com or on the night of the performance.
