Nenagh gas works ready to go

Construction works in connecting Nenagh to the national gas grid are to start next month.
The works will involve bringing a feeder pipeline out to Nenagh from Annacotty along the old N7 (R445). It is anticipated that the line will be brought into the town via Sprinfort Cross in February.
A  smaller distributor line will be laid along the Limerick road. It will be brought right along William St, turning right again on Silver St and left onto Patrick's Terrace to connect Arrabawn Coop at Stafford St.
This connection is to be made by June. After that the network is to be extended into the town centre through Kenyon St over a three-month period, during which around 3.3km of Nenagh's water pipes are to be repaired in tandem with the gas works.
Details of the later stages of Nenagh's gas connection project – which has an overall cost of €8.5 million and involves laying some 14km of pipes in the town – will be announced early next year.
A presentation on the project was made at last week's meeting of Nenagh Municipal District Council.
