Ormond historical society hosts lecture on brian bor

Ormond Historical Society's season of lectures commences this Monday night, October 6th, with a lecture by Dr Cathy Swift on the topic of 'Brian Ború, Thomond and the Warriors of Tipperary'.

The venue is the Abbey Court Hotel and start time is 8.30pm. The talk will focus on the involvement of the Tipperary kingdoms in Brian's career and their involvement in the Battle of Clontarf. Dr Cathy Swift BA, M Phil, D Phil is Director of Irish Studies in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. She has lectured extensively on the life of Brian Ború and has also acted as a consultant on recent programmes on the Battle of Clontarf millennium celebration. The lecture is open to all with free admission for society members; non members €5 admission. New members are always welcome and anyone coming along who wishes to join later will have their admission charge discounted against membership.
